How will I know what the patient balance is?

At the time of insurance verification, the anticipated out-of-pocket amount is calculated based on the scheduled procedure, your insurance plan and your deductible and coinsurance amounts. If a balance is due on the day of your procedure, you will be contacted with the anticipated out-of-pocket amount by our Insurance Verification Staff.

For uninsured patients or patients having cosmetic procedures not covered by insurance, CRSC Business Office staff will contact you prior to your surgery date with the amount due on the day of your procedure.

How is the facility fee determined?

Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) fees are based on the procedure(s) performed by the surgeon. The facility is reimbursed one set amount plus, in some cases, the cost for implants that remain in the body. Supplies, medication, and/or pre- and post-operative care are not billed separately or itemized on your statement.

If CRSC participates with my insurance do you accept their check as full payment?

Not necessarily; participation with a payer requires CRSC to accept what that insurance allows for a procedure. However, patients may still be responsible for out-of-pocket expenses due to deductible and/or coinsurances according to their insurance plan.

How will I know if I'm spending my healthcare dollars wisely?

The cost of a procedure at an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) is typically 45-60% less than the same procedure performed in the hospital out-patient (HOPD) setting. Accordingly, patient co-pays are also significantly lower when care is received in an ASC versus the HOPD. These savings are also passed along to private, third-party and government payers.

"All of the staff were incredible - particularly the nurses that won over my 4-year old in record time, so that he happily and willingly went back with them for his surgery with no hesitation, and the nursing staff that helped care for him post-op. Truly incredible people!"
