HR Manager

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Conduct recruitment, onboarding and employment selections process
  • Analyze trends in compensation and benefits; research and propose competitive wages and benefits
  • Partner with the leadership team to understand and execute human resource and talent strategies relating to current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning
  • Prepare and maintain personnel records
  • Oversee performance management and evaluations
  • Develop training programs for staff and leadership team
  • Oversee benefits including insurance carriers and billing, open enrollment and ACA reporting
  • Administer 401k plan including eligibility, contributions, profit sharing, record keeping, terminations, etc.
  • Oversee the daily operations and needs of the Human Resources department
  • Provide support and guidance to leadership team and staff when complex, specialized, and sensitive questions and issues arise
  • Responsible for payroll processing and related functions
  • Counsel leadership team on employee relations and disciplinary actions of employees in accordance with company policies, State and Federal laws
  • Manage employee leave including FMLA, short/long-term disability claims, leave of absences and workers compensation claims
  • Oversee employee disciplinary meetings, reasonable accommodations, terminations, and investigations
  • Maintain and update human resources documents, policies, forms, employee handbook and performance evaluation forms as needed
  • Obtain knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and State and Federal employment laws
  • Interpret human resources policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of HR Generalist/HR Manager experience required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management preferred
  • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP professional certification preferred
